Government Type: Federal republic ruled by the National Congress Party. Which means that each region or state of Sudan has it's own government voted by its people to rule them, apart from the central government of Sudan, whose powers are restricted due to this.
Economy: Sudan is a poor country due to the secession of South Sudan and the many internal conflicts within itself. The southern region of Sudan was responsible for 3/4 of Sudan's oil production. For a decade the country's economy has been thriving from exporting oil, but since the secession of South Sudan, they have struggled to maintain economic stability. With most of the oil production gone, the economy of Sudan began to drop significantly. In response the government of Sudan turns to other solutions such as gold mining to generate revenue. The Agriculture production is a constant that continues to provide 80% of the work force with jobs and it also contributes to a third of the GDP. Due to all these factors there will still be many of the population living in poverty in the near future.
